Post NRG Short Hub & 2.5 Quick release Reply with quote
Well last week i decided to install my NRG Short hub and NRG 2.5 Quick Release.

Here is a pic before i started of what my steering wheel set-up looked like:

To get the Airbag out u have to take out the t-30 torx bolt out. there is one on each side. you can see it here in this picture:

Then you unclip the the airbag and cruise control stalk. and then undo the 17mm nut that holds the steering wheel to the column. then wiggle the wheel off the column using some force. Then take off the black plastic covers that cover the column and u will see the clockspring

Next you have to remove the clockspring when using the NRG Short HUB. undo the 4 screws that hold up the clockspring to the white plastic pieces. in the pic below u can see i already unhooked the clips under the dash for the clockspring.

once those clips are unhooked the clockspring will falls out. Next u grab your short hub and install it:

tighten the 17mm bolt down and now u are ready to install the quick release base. the base is tighten down to the short hub by 6 allen head bolts. Then i re-installed the black plastic covers on the column.

Next you will install the actual release mechanism on the steering wheel. I purchased the new 2.5 edition, due to it being easier to remove. Here is the final shots.

There are some photos i missed and all shots were taken with my Iphone. my cruise control was already broke so i decided to get rid of it. and i have no horn currently, but that will be taken care of soon. airbag light will be on unless u get the right resistor to fix that. but do to having JDM seats, my airbag light has always been on!!!!
